Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey has said no policy changes followed a private meeting with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, according to a letter posted on X by BBC economics editor Faisal Islam.
The meeting, held in September 2025, covered issues including debanking, freedom of speech, the right to a bank account, cryptocurrencies and a potential UK central bank digital currency, with Farage strongly lobbying against the introduction of the latter.
