New Analysis: Firms Spend $4.8T on Stock Buybacks Since 1st Trump-GOP Tax Law

Today, Americans for Tax Fairness released a new analysis revealing that 100 major corporations have spent $4.8T on stock buybacks since the 2017 Trump-GOP tax law. If the Stock Buyback Accountability Act, introduced by Leader Schumer (D-NY), Senator Wyden (D-OR), and Senator Warren (D-MA), had applied, it could have raised nearly $200B. Ten companies accounted for more than $2T of the total.
