It was weird when Labor’s star pupil Andrew Charlton started supporting crypto after he’d been on Sky News effectively shitting on it.

It was weirder still when Charlton declared that he’d received a $49,500 donation from Brisbane crypto exchange Swyftx at the 2025 election. Donations usually go to the federal or state parties, and he was given some of the stewardship of regulating crypto shortly after.
