When a Sydney family came to cryptocurrency investor, educator and author Sydel Sierra with a will noting a mysterious parcel of digital assets, they had no idea whether the investment could be retrieved.
Sierra says the deceased – whose first name was Karen – had not told her family she owned digital currency and, by the time she died in 2020, it was worth about $30,000. While Karen had left the passkeys, it was unclear what exactly she owned and where to find it.
