Canada Moves To Ban Crypto From Political Fundraising

Canada’s federal government introduced legislation on March 26 that would prohibit cryptocurrency donations across the entire federal political system. The bill, known as the Strong and Free Elections Act or Bill C-25, groups digital assets with money orders and prepaid payment cards as funding sources that cannot be reliably traced. It would apply to registered parties, riding associations, candidates, leadership contestants, nomination contestants, and third parties involved in election advertising.
