The federal government is investing more than $900 million to strengthen Canada’s defence capabilities and support the growth of emerging technologies, including quantum innovation.
The funding, announced Thursday as part of Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy, will be delivered through the National Research Council of Canada and is aimed at building a more resilient domestic defence sector while supporting economic growth.
Defence Minister David McGuinty said the investment will help advance next-generation technologies and ensure Canada can meet its evolving security needs.
