Scammers are targeting cryptocurrency users with a fake FBI token, the agency said last week.

The FBI said on X on March 19 that it is not behind an eponymous token being sent to cryptocurrency holders on the Tron network, warning users against sharing their personal information and urging those who have already have to file a report.

The token identified by the agency has been received by 728 cryptocurrency wallets, according to the TRONSCAN blockchain explorer. Recipients of the token are informed that they are under investigation and are urged to complete identity verification to avoid losing access to their assets.
