SEC Names Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and 13 More Crypto Assets Digital Commodities — Not Securities

The SEC and CFTC issued a joint 68-page interpretation on March 17 explicitly naming 16 crypto assets as digital commodities. Staking, mining and airdrops are now classified outside securities law. The CLARITY Act still needs to pass to make it permanent.
