The Financial Markets Authority has drawn a line in the sand on its treatment of stablecoins as the country continues to grapple with how to treat crypto assets.
The decision has been welcomed by the blockchain industry in New Zealand, but it wants to see proper legislation and regulations around cryptocurrency ahead of the election later this year.
