Vault: Crypto talks limp toward February
Senate leaders involved in the bipartisan talks around crypto market structure projected some bruised optimism Thursday morning after a key markup was punted late Wednesday night.
“I feel like I got run over by a Mack truck,” Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) said, laughing. “We’ll pick up the discussion in February in some manner. But I don’t know when, and I don’t exactly know how.”
No one is excited to continue these talks. Senators, staff and industry players are exhausted. But both parties remain committed to doing something after the Martin Luther King Jr. Day recess.
