CFA Urges Halt to Crypto Bill Over Trump Fed Investigation
The Consumer Federation of America wants lawmakers to stop work on financial legislation (including the Senate’s crypto market structure bill) until President Donald Trump ends the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
In a letter to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Development (as well as a crypto working group of legislators formed last year), CFA Investor Protection Director Corey Frayer wrote that Trump’s “unprecedented action threatens the faith in and stability” of U.S. financial markets.
