“Do you understand?”

If you’ve ever come across that sentence on Twitter, chances are you’re looking at a self-proclaimed crypto guru—an altcoin or memecoin “king” who claims to have a sixth sense for spotting the next “x100 gem.” These influencers thrive on hype, promising that their latest low-cap, obscure pick will make you (and anyone else who jumps in early) wildly rich.

But a new report on Twitter is shedding light on something that, in retrospect, should be pretty obvious. 

A new scoop by blockchain investigator ZachXBT revealed that many of these so-called gurus are actually being paid to promote random tokens, often without disclosing that their posts about finding a new crypto gem are indeed paid promotions.
