The actress Sarah Parish has been a fixture of television screens since the 1990s, starring in Trollied, Peak Practice, Cutting It and a Doctor Who Christmas special. She has also featured on the big screen in films such as The Wedding Date and The Holiday.
But it was her philanthropic work supporting seriously ill children and their families that earned her an MBE in the new year’s honours list, along with her husband, James Murray. The pair set up The Murray Parish Trust, now called Imagine This, in 2014 in honour of their first daughter, Ella-Jayne, who died of a congenital heart defect in 2009, aged eight months.
