The US House of Representatives is debating three industry-friendly bills that promise to provide cryptocurrencies with the US regulatory framework that crypto insiders have long demanded.
Despite his initial opposition to the digital currency President Donald Trump has pledged to make America the crypto capital of the world.
But what are we actually talking about when we look at the various crypto currencies, and could this legislation take digital tokens into the mainstream?
