L&G has launched an emerging markets natural and social outcomes private debt strategy.
The Nature and Social Outcomes strategy’s initial investment of $235m (€217.7m) has been made by L&G, bringing the firm’s total commitment to nature conservation and sustainable development in emerging markets (EMs) to over $1.1bn (€890m).
L&G aims to capitalise on the $4tn (€3.7tn) annual funding gap left to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The new strategy will address the gap faced by developing countries by leveraging financing methods benefitting from multilateral guarantees and insurance.
