Australian shares are expected to begin their day relatively steady after a mostly positive night across global markets.
ASX futures were flat (or down 1 point) by 7:10am AEST.
The Australian dollar had slipped (-0.1pc) to 71.5 US cents.
Gold prices dropped (-0.4pc) from last week’s record high to $US2,027 an ounce, while Brent crude oil jumped (+1.2pc) to $US45 a barrel.
